RESEARCHERS

For help with this edition, Rick relied on...

Pål Bjarne Johansen

A tour guide and guidebook researcher for Rick Steves’ Europe, Pål grew up in the Norwegian countryside near Oslo. He discovered his passion for travel and adventure at a young age and has backpacked much of the world. When he’s not working for Rick Steves, you’ll find Pål skiing the Norwegian woods in winter and sailing the seven seas in summer.

Teresa Nemeth

Teresa grew up raising sheep and riding horses in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. She fell in love with Italy after high school, then spent a year of college in Freiburg, Germany. Now her European home away from home is with family in a small town along the Danube southeast of Bratislava, Slovakia. She works as an editor for Rick Steves’ Europe.

Robyn Stencil

Robyn’s adventurous spirit sprouted from childhood explorations of the Pacific Northwest and the competitive sports circuit. After studying in Rome, she joined Rick Steves’ Europe, where she’s become devoted to Europe’s friendly locals, lived-in cities, and vibrant cultures. When she’s not researching, climbing mountains, or running marathons, Robyn calls Everett, Washington, home and works as a program manager of tours for Rick Steves’ Europe.
